Hi all,

My surgery Monday is complete and was without complications minus keeping me under for 45 additional minutes because my urine was so clear that the surgeon couldn't find it (I don't understand either). Did you know they do these laparoscopic hysterectomies with the patient pretty much upside down? So that all the other organs and parts get out of the way? Crazy.

My uterus, cervix, ovaries and tubes are all cancer free. This was suspected but hearing that news was quite a relief. I asked if I could take them to Puddletown for the children to look at through a microscope but the doctor wanted to cut them up, check them for cancer and then cremate them. She will be giving me photos at my post op appointment that I hope to share. Apparently I have/had a very "adorable" uterus.

Of the 4 surgeries I've had this is by far the easiest and quickest recovery. I am mostly off pain meds and today I'm going to drive a short distance, despite being told I'm supposed to wait a few more days. I had to find a rule to break in order to feel like myself.

My mom is visiting now. With my approval she came a few days after my surgery so that she could use her tickets to see Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper at Jones' Beach. This seemed like the best possible reason to wait.

I have a trip to Half Moon Bay and a camping trip coming up in the next month before returning to school.

The other night I was laughing in my sleep and Christopher asked me what was so funny and I said, "that tomato was so delicious."

Love,

Andrea
