I've resisted. And felt shame about the possibility of asking for help with my medical bills outside of my immediate family. And I've managed (thanks mom). I'm actually fine. I justified the almost $30,000 I've spent on cancer by also buying things I need and want (a new roof, sofa, vaulted ceiling in my bedroom, and some clothes for my new, weird body). This somehow made me feel a little bit better since in the end I was able to make some choices about where large sums of money were going.
There is a retreat that I want to do and can't afford to do it. Many of you have given so much to me already and I hesitate to ask for anything more. If you give nothing I will love you just as much. And as the not so old saying goes, "every dollar counts" so if you only want to give $5, don't be shy.

I don't want to post this on facebook or anything like that so I am only sending it to a small group of people who have at one time or another expressed interest in supporting me. If someone you know has mentioned wanting to help, please feel free to forward the link to them. I'm sure I forgot some folks.
